Dr. Schiesser graduated with an MD from the University of Rochester in 1994 and completed residency in Internal Medicine at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. His residency experience enabled first hand knowledge the subspecialty area of sleep medicine, and created Creekside Sleep Medicine Center, LLC in 2006.
Dr. Schiesser's practice is located 2 miles from Creekside Sleep Center (see below), and is currently devoted to issues of pain and prescription opioid use. In particular he addresses the prevention and management of complications from use of prescription pain medications (e.g. Methadone, Oxydocone and Oxycontin, hydrocodone, Morphine, and others) including the identification of patients using pain medications at risk for sleep apnea, or diagnosis and treatment for patients dependent on prescription pain medication or other opiates.
Dr. Schiesser is active in state government policy reform, and serves to enhance knowledge accross sectors within the health care system including state and federal agencies, universities and research, insurance and liability carriers, manufacturers, and private foundations, including the American Pain Foundation.
Dr. Schiesser's is a partner with Creekside Sleep Medicine to empower physicians in the community through the dissemination of knowledge relating to the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of sleep disorders in primary care, pain, and occupational medicine environments.
